Each Velvet Art Edition is a luxurious and powerful work of art, printed on rich velvet and designed to elevate any space with depth, texture, and understated elegance. More than decorative, these works transform a room, adding atmosphere, identity, and quiet strength.
The velvet surface lends a soft glow and subtle movement to the image. Light dances across skin tones and details, bringing each artwork to life differently throughout the day. The result is a tactile and sculptural presence, intimate, serene, and visually arresting without overwhelming the space.

The Production Process
Every artwork by Wendy Buiter begins as a hand-painted original. In her studio, Wendy works with premium paints and fine brushes on canvas, carefully building each detail with precision and character.
Once completed, the artwork is professionally scanned at ultra-high resolution. The file is then digitally refined into a print-ready version that faithfully preserves her colours, nuances, and painterly texture.
Each velvet artwork is printed on luxurious fabric that captures colour, light, and texture with a near-tangible intensity. These high-quality reproductions retain the elegance and impact of the original painting while offering a more accessible option for design lovers, collectors, and retail environments.
Thanks to the exceptionally high DPI (dots per inch), these works can be enlarged up to six times their original size without any loss of quality, making them ideal for large-scale velvet art prints.
Presentation Advice
Use the largest available format in your window display, it immediately draws attention. Each frame is supplied with standard wall-mounting hardware. If you prefer a standalone version with baseplates, you can request this separately. This allows for freestanding in-store presentation, either as a single piece or back-to-back with a second artwork to create a walk-around wall and flexible retail layout.
Each artwork comes with a black, gold, white, or silver aluminium frame or wood. The frame and velvet canvas are shipped separately for secure transport and can be assembled easily in under 10 minutes, no special tools required.

The Masterpieces
The Masterpieces are the core of Wendy Buiter’s body of work: unique, one-of-a-kind paintings that center around the strength, elegance and individuality of the feminine spirit. Each piece is hand-painted by the artist, using an intuitive and refined creative process.
Paintings are created on Hahnemühle artist paper or on linen, and composed with a blend of watercolor, crayons, acrylic paint, gold leaf, collage and mixed media, giving each artwork its own distinctive texture and visual depth.
The minimum size for a Masterpiece is 70 cm wide by 100 cm high, but custom dimensions are always possible upon request.
Each original work comes with a certificate of authenticity, and holds enduring artistic and cultural value. As rare originals, the Masterpieces retain, and often increase, their worth over time, much like museum-quality art.

Commissions
In addition to her studio work, Wendy Buiter offers the possibility of commissioned paintings, tailored to the client’s wishes. Think of a large-scale portrait of the lady of the house, a full family portrait, or a work created to perfectly suit a specific interior.
Each commissioned piece is created with the same care and quality as the Masterpieces, following an in-depth consultation about format, color palette, atmosphere and symbolism. Completion takes several months depending on the waiting list.
