Queen Bee turns femininity into regalia. Drawing on the bee as a recurring emblem in both nature and the iconography of luxury fashion, the work presents its muse not simply as beautiful, but as sovereign. Ornament and portraiture come together in a woman who appears entirely conscious of her own authority. Queen Bee is playful in title, but its underlying idea is serious: elegance can be decorative and powerful at exactly the same time.
