Sustainability philosophy
An honest approach to responsibility
The goal is to create beautiful, timeless jewelry while minimizing our impact on the planet.
100% sustainability doesn’t exist; we all know that. But that doesn’t mean we can’t make conscious choices. We refuse to greenwash. Our commitment is simple: to create beautiful jewelry while continuously working toward more responsible practices.
Wendy Buiter has been vegan for over 30 years, so she’s well on her way to having a light carbon footprint (pun intended). But all jokes aside, sustainability isn’t just about lifestyle, it’s about the materials we choose, the way we produce, and the impact we leave behind.
Our commitment to the future
Sustainability isn’t a claim, it’s a journey. As we grow, we are dedicated to:
- Creating our collections with sustainable materials, including recycled brass and stainless steel. These materials offer durability and longevity while reducing reliance on newly mined metals.
- Using cubic zirconia is a responsible alternative to mined gemstones because it is a stunning alternative and free from the ethical and environmental concerns of mined gemstones.
- Designing packaging that is reusable, recyclable, and FSC-certified to minimize waste.
- Supporting environmental and ethical initiatives through charity donations to Milieudefensie (Friends of the Earth), (NVV) the Dutch Vegan Society, and the Dutch Vegetarian Society.
We’re not perfect, and we won’t pretend to be. But we’re committed to evolving, learning, and making better choices every step of the way.
Transparency & Accountability
We believe in being open about where we are and where we’re going. In the future, we aim to:
- Work with suppliers who share our values on fair labor and sustainability.
- Increase the use of post-consumer recycled metals in our collections.
- Partner with environmental organizations to further offset our impact.
This is just the beginning. We invite you to join us on this journey because every choice, no matter how small, shapes the world we leave behind.
